Retinol is a form of vitamin A that’s suitable for the skin. Which belongs to a group of vitamin A derivatives, known as retinoids. Retinol increases skin collagen production in the dermis and helps unclog pores. It also exfoliates your skin. Retinol can reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and sun damage to provide a radiant, even skin tone.
Remember – Retinol is not a quick fix. Retinoids may have an effect in a matter of weeks, but it can take up to 6 months to achieve optimal results.
It is ideal for congested and uneven, hyper-pigmentation skin type as well as those showing signs of ageing and loss of elasticity. Retinol usage is not recommended for skin with eczema, rosacea, or sensitive skin.
Among the most common temporary side effects is dryness, peeling, redness and even a bit of discomfort. Once your skin gets use to the retinol products these side effects will subside. Due to this, we recommend you start on 0.5 strength and only use it 2-3 times per week. (Using it too often or at a high strength can result in irritation)
How to use
Sknlogic Retinol should only be introduced after being on the basic Sknlogic products for at least 4 weeks. Start by applying it at night for only 2-3 days per week. Each week, if you skin has adapted to the Retinol increase slowly to build up to every second evening.
After cleansing and toning and exfoliating apply 2 – 3 drops to cleansed face avoiding eyes and mouth. Follow with serum and moisturizer. As Retinol can be drying to the skin, we recommend an effective moisturizer like Sknlogic Moist Supreme to ensure skin hydrate and skin’s barrier protected.
Remember – always apply Sknlogic SPF 40 (broad spectrum sunscreen) every day!
